Company History

Cambridge Precision Instruments Ltd. was originally formed in 1991 by Richard Hobbs and Nigel Rata, in 2003 the company was rebranded as Cambridge Precision Ltd. after a merger of Cambridge Precision Instruments Ltd. and Craychase Ltd.

The resulting new company CPL integrated the best practices from both businesses and as a result is optimally equipped to meet the requirements and demands of the marketplace and the customer from both of the previous businesses.

The Company maintains an active interest in technological developments to ensure that its products and equipment reflect the high quality it aims to produce. The Company has sub-contract machining facilities for both volume and special one off-production precision components.

The Company supplies to a wide range of engineering industries, including computer, scientific, telecommunications, aerospace, marine, MoD & defense, ink jet printing, medical, automotive, motorsport and allied sectors.

In 2007 the Company acquired additional premises close to the current main site in order to expand, particularly in prototype and component machining development, additionally the Company has enlarged the Assembly & Test facilities within this location.
