Cambridge MP visits Cambridge Precision

CPL were delighted to welcome Cambridge MP, Daniel Zeichner to the manufacturing centre on 13th September. Daniel’s visit was the result of his interest in both business and technology and he was intrigued to learn about the developments at CPL, and our investment in the most innovative of engineering technologies including collaborative robots and multi axis milling and turning centres.

Daniel is familiar with many of the leading technology and med-tech companies in Cambridge, and realising the dependence that many of these companies have on the bespoke and high quality precision machined components, produced at CPL, helped square the circle. With technologies such as medical robotics, thermal imaging and aviation design being developed in his constituency, he was pleased to learn that their manufacture was also taking place locally.

He was equally interested in CPL’s award-winning endeavours to manage the environmental impact of their work and their 100% waste recycling record, electric car fleet and health and well-being programme.

Inevitably BREXIT was discussed and Daniel fully appreciated the problems being created by uncertainty about goods transport, tariffs and exchange rate fluctuations.  He shared the company’s concerns and frustrations.

It was extremely useful to connect with Mr Zeichner and CPL look forward to continuing conversations with him.
