Celebrating UK Manufacturing

Regional Annual MAKE UK Awards DinnerLast night, representatives from Cambridge Precision Ltd, attended the Regional Annual MAKE UK Awards Dinner at the Slate, Warwick.

The event celebrated local manufacturing expertise, growth and innovation. Cambridge Precision Ltd, amongst many others in our region, were recognised for their ongoing success.  CPL were shortlisted for the Innovation award in recognition of the digital and cobotic development in our production hub.

The event was attended by more than 320 guest and was a welcome social gathering after the Covid restrictions of the past year.

One of the most exciting aspects of the evening were the Apprentice Awards.  A wide range of accolades for young people bringing new skills, change and energy into our industry.  With 1200 apprentices currently participating in Make UK schemes this is a welcome venture and suggests some light at the end of the tunnel with regard to addressing skills shortages.

Stephen Phipson, CEO of Make UK

Stephen Phipson, CEO of Make UK, addressed the room, bringing all up to speed with campaigning political work the organisation undertakes on behalf of the manufacturing sector and highlighting the value and importance of our companies as we develop an even stronger industrial economy.

A great evening and congratulations to all involved.
